Colbert speaks with Cannabis Activist, Gary Johnson

The amazing Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report (If you don’t watch already, catch it on Comedy Central sometime) recently featured former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, currently considered a likely republican candidate for the 2012 presidential election. Usually, I don’t like what comes out of a Republican’s mouth but I have to admit, I liked what this guy was saying. He dedicated his entire air time talking about how the drug war has failed –followed by cheers from the crowd– and why marijuana should be legalized. Since it’s on The Colbert Report, it is of course hilarious to hear Colbert debate the former governor using the age-old arguments on why marijuana should remain legal yet (ie: It’s a gate way drug!! *gasp*) Johnson handled it wonderfully while still getting his valid points across.
